Lit up like a Christmas tree after a car accident

You’re out for an afternoon drive with the windows and sunroof down, and BAM! You get into an accident, and one more warning sign on your dashboard lights up making you feel uneasy. You now have two lights on! Two! You’re in luck, though! We can help you at the Toyota of N Charlotte service center.

dashboard lights gone wild

Light ‘em up

Check engine light.

One of the most gut-gut-wrenching dashboard lights to come on is the check engine light. However, this is a common light to come on, so no need to worry too much! This could be anything from a loose gas cap or a more serious issue that could cause premature engine wear.

Engine oil pressure light.

The engine oil light looks like a red oil can, and this means that your oil is not circulating throughout your engine. You need to take this to a Toyota of N Charlotte service center to get looked at ASAP because this is one of the dashboard lights that can cause your car to wear down or even seize up!

Battery light.

The battery signal brightens up your dashboard lights when your battery is low, or it could be as simple as some wiring that it is loose. However, it could mean that you have a worn alternator, broken accessory belt, or another electrical problem.

Tire pressure warning light.

This looks like a yellow exclamation point in the middle. Among all of the dashboard lights, this one is very common and might cause concern for a good ol’ tow truck to take you away to the Toyota of N Charlotte service center. You might need to change a worn tire or even have a flat! However, before you whip out your cellphone to call a tow truck, take a look at the tire and see if it just needs some air.

ABS warning light.

This looks like a yellow or red circle with the letters “ABS” in the center. If you happen to see this light, then it’s a warning that there is an issue with the anti-lock braking system. You’ll still be able to drive if this light is on, but you should be careful because it won’t work as efficiently. It’s definitely a good idea to take this to Toyota of N Charlotte to get checked.

Airbag warning light.

A telltale sign that this light is on is if you see an illuminated airbag among your dashboard lights. You’ll want to drive as quickly as you can, while still being safe, and have this fixed ASAP at Toyota of N Charlotte. You don’t want to make the mistake of not having your airbag working properly if you get into an accident.

Washer fluid light.

This is a yellow light that has water coming out of the right and left. You’ll want to have this remedied ASAP because you obviously need a clear windshield to drive.
