Breakdown of Vehicle Body Styles

One thing consumers in the auto industry can’t complain about is the lack of options. At Toyota of N Charlotte, we can definitely offer you a variety of options when it comes to your vehicle’s body style. In fact, the different car models we have in our inventory can perform a different task exceptionally which allows consumers to pick their preferred vehicle body style based on the function they need it for.

It can get challenging keeping track of all the vehicle body styles that are out there, so here at Toyota of N Charlotte it is our duty to break it down for you. Check it out!

Vehicle Body Styles Available at Toyota of N Charlotte

Sedan

Back in the day, sedans were the most popular and practical vehicle body styles. A typical N Charlotte sedan has 4 doors, added trunk space and can have a variety of sizes. The smallest of the sedan family is the subcompact sedan. It’s more fuel efficient, but has less trunk space. In our inventory, this would perfectly describe the Toyota Yaris and the Toyota Corolla. A Camry would be classified as a mid-size sedan, and an Avalon would be the full-size.

Coupe

This is more stylish and sportier than the pervious category. It has 2 doors, a smaller trunk, and solid rooftop. They can be sports cars, but it’s not always the case. There are some N Charlotte Toyota coupes that have smaller back seats and expanded trunk space. From our lineup, the vehicle classified in this category is the Toyota 86.

Sports Car

It’s edgy, it’s cool, and the midlife crisis’ best friend (kidding, but not really!) In case you didn’t know, sports cars also double as coupes. Nevertheless, their design category describes more than only having 2 doors. Some sports car models only have 2 seats with little to no trunk space. They have large engines and are designed for you to have an exhilarating driving experience. In other words… the Toyota Supra.

Hatchback

This is a remix of the sedan’s formula. Hatchback vehicles have 4 doors, a trunk, and a squared-off roofline. This gives drivers better access to the cargo area, and a trunk that eases into the cabin. What Toyota model encompasses this vehicle body style you ask? The Corolla Hatchback of course!

Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV)

SUV’s are the most popular vehicle body styles in North America. They have the platform of the sedan but add more room, power, and utility. Some a bit for towing, carrying many passengers, carry large cargo or loads, etc. They can also range from compact to full size. The SUV’s currently in our lineup include the 4Runner, Land Cruiser, RAV4, Sequoia, Highlander, etc.

Minivan

Made for families, the minivan has a niche vehicle body style. They have features like expanded rear seating, entertainment systems, etc. The N Charlotte Toyota Sienna is our own minivan that we often like to call the “swagger wagon” because its come a long way from being “lame”.

Truck

This type of style is meant to put in work! They’re designed with a bed to carry cargo, have large engines, minimalistic cabin space, etc. They can tow big loads or carry a lot of cargo in the bed. The Tacoma and the Tundra are definitely the Kings of this category.

So there you have it, written proof of our versatility! If you're interested in test driving one then stop by Toyota of N Charlotte today. We're located at 13429 Statesville Rd in Huntersville.
