5 tips to maintain your car headlights

Your car headlights are the eyes of the road. Making sure that your car headlights are bright makes it easier for you to drive at night and stay accident-free! The good news is that we have five tips for you to keep your car headlights bright and never dull!

foggy car headlights

#1 Cloudy look and yellow.

As your car ages and with wear and tear, your car headlights can appear yellow and cloudy. Not only does this make the car look older than it is, but it also makes your car less valuable if you want to sell it to someone. If this happens just take your Toyota car to our Toyota of N Charlotte auto service techs to fix it for you and have your lights shining bright like a diamond!

Get your bucket and rag out!

#2 Have regular cleanings.

Grime and dirt can accumulate on your headlights, just as it can on other parts of your Toyota car… and the inside. It is good practice to schedule regular cleanings for your lights, just as you do for your car. While you’re outside washing your Toyota car, take the extra step to clean the inside and outside of your headlights.

#3 Replace in pairs.

It’s best to replace your car headlights in pairs because when one goes out the other one isn’t far behind. Just get it done in one swoop so you save yourself some time and energy. If you’re unsure of how to do this, then

our Toyota of N Charlotte auto service techs can help you!

It’s in the details at Toyota of N Charlotte.

#4 Align those babies.

Did you know that your headlights need to be aligned just as your Toyota of N Charlotte wheels need to be aligned? Hitting potholes or other debris on the road can knock your car headlights out of alignment and cause the light not to focus on the road in the way it was meant to do. Go on and take your car to the Toyota of N Charlotte auto techs to fix this for you. It’s easy peasy!

#5 Check the brightness level.

If you are regularly checking the brightness of your car headlights, then you will probably have a better estimate of when the bulb might go out. And, even better if you’re checking the headlights and you notice one is out, then you can fix the problem a lot faster than if someone just told you. Also, it’s safer to drive with both headlights instead of just one during the night. When you’re cleaning your Toyota car just take the extra step to turn on your headlights to be sure they’re lit up like a Christmas tree.
